The College of Science provides undergraduate and postgraduate courses in basic science and mathematics. In common with all undergraduate students in National Cheng Kung University, it is required that the students should also include subjects drawn from the humanities and social science in their studies.

Students are trained to have depth in their specialty and breadth in the general area. In order to provide the students with the ability to apply what they learn, the instruction and research of the college have taken theoretical concepts and applications into equal consideration.
