When is the deadline of the application in academic year? |
|
The deadline is on April 27 , 2007. All the materials need to be submitted by postal service or in person. |

Do I need to submit any language proficiency test result, such as TOEFL or IELTS? |
|
Each department will have their own requirements on languages. Please refer to application instructions Point II. part (C) "Other requirements for individual departments" for more specific information. However, demonstrating a language proficiency test along with your submitting materials may be helpful to your application. |

Do I need to know Chinese to apply? |
|
It depends.
Most of the courses in undergraduate degree programs are instructed in Chinese. Students are expected to have sufficient listening, speaking, reading, and writing ability in Chinese language. Knowing some Chinese may also be helpful to your life in Taiwan .If you are interest in learning Chinese, there is also a Chinese language center at school, and you can see the further information on-line http://www.ncku.edu.tw/%7Elang/langcenter/chinese/. |

Where can I find part-time job opportunities? |
 |
The information about jobs are around the campus. The news may be on the bulletin boards of departments, or on the NCKU website http://www.ncku.edu.tw. But most of part-time job information is on BBS. bbs://140.116.250.3 (in Chinese).On-campus work opportunities doesn't require work permit. But work permit is required for off-campus job. With the exception of summer and winter vacations, students with work permit may work a maximum of 16 hours per week while the work permit is valid. And foreigners working in Taiwan are required to file an income tax return annually in May.
