Faculty Position Open

Institute of Gerontology College of Medicine National Cheng Kung University In Tainan Taiwan

The Institute of Gerontology at National Cheng Kung University invites applications for five new faculty positions starting from August, 2008. Ranks are open. Specializations include: Health and Welfare Policy, Medical Economics, Health Policy Evaluation, Sociology, Demography, Anthropology, Geriatrics, and Gerontology. Other related areas will also be considered.

Applicants must meet at least one of the following qualifications:

  1. Assistant Professor or higher with teaching and/or research experience
  2. Doctoral Degree (postdoctoral experience is highly desired)
  3. Medical geriatric track applicants must have an M.D. degree and be certified in a) internal medicine or family medicine and b) sub-specialization in geriatric medicine

Candidates should submit three copies of the following documents:

  1. Vitae (indicating rank applied for)
  2. A statement of teaching and research interest
  3. Proposed course outlines
  4. A copy of graduate school transcript if Ph.D. degree was granted in past three years
  5. A copy of Ph.D. diploma or the official certificate of assistant professorship or above
  6. Samples of academic publications
  7. Those who apply for geriatric track position must submit a copy of the specialist certifications (both major specialist certificate and sub-specialist certificate of geriatrics) or other approved certifications issued by the Association of Geriatric Medicine
  8. Three letters of references sent directly from the referees

Applicants should attach the required documents and “Application for Institute of Gerontology Faculty Position” must appear on the envelope. Please send to: Institute of Gerontology, College of Medicine, National Cheng Kung University, No.1, University Road, Tainan City 70101, Taiwan. No application deadline. Review of applications will continue until all vacancies filled. (Applications received before February 15, 2008 will be considered for August 2008 appointments, while those received afterward will be considered for February 2009 appointments)
