Introduction

• Independent air conditioning system--Install the HEPA filter and all-in all-out air conditioning system.
• Barrier breeding areas--Strictly enclosed to prevent the infection of breeding animal. Specific-Pathogen-Free rats and mice are produced in these areas.
• Experimentally infected animal rooms--With negative room air pressure system, these rooms are up to the standard of P2 infectious disease laboratory, preventing out-spreading of the infectious microorganism within the rooms.
• Surgical operation laboratory : Equipped with anesthetic machine, electrocardiograph, ventilator, micro-surgery microscope, laparoscope...etc., for surgical teaching practices in laboratory animal.
• Quarantine room : Lab animals (esp. rabbits, dogs & pigs) purchased from outside should be quarantined in this room and vaccinated.
• Holding areas : Lab animals undergoing experiments are kept in these areas.
• Washing and sterilizing machine areas : Two sets of autoclaves and one set of tunnel cage washer are fitted in this area.
• The average annual production of SPF rats & mice is in a total of 40,000. Most of them are used for the medical research inside the medical center, the rest of them are sold out to other research organizations.
