2008 NCKU Outstanding Alumnus Award

  1. Mr. Mao-Cheng Chen received his B.S. degree from the Department of Engineering Science at National Cheng Kung University in 1951. Mr. Chen is currently the CEO of Chenta Precision Machinery Ind. Inc. He has made great contributions not only to the mechanical and fishery industry but also to the society.
  2. Mr. Bao-Lang Chen received his B.S. degree from the Department of Chemical Engineering at National Cheng Kung University in 1966. Mr. Chen is currently the President of the CPC Corporation, Taiwan. He has made great contributions not only to the petrochemical industry but also to the economic development in Taiwan.
  3. Mr. Yuan-Cheng Chen received his B.S. degree from the Department of Mining and Metallurgical Engineering at National Cheng Kung University in 1969. Mr. Chen is currently the President of the China Steel Corporation. He has made great contributions not only to the steel industry but also to the economic development in Taiwan.
  4. Prof. William W-G. Yeh received his B.S. degree from the Department of Civil Engineering at National Cheng Kung University in 1961. Prof. Yeh is Distinguished Professor at the University of California, Los Angeles and masters in water resources planning and ground water hydrology. Prof. Yeh has made great contributions to the development of methodologies not only for optimizing the management of water resources but also for inverse methods of estimating subsurface parameters. His outstanding pioneering studies on water resources have provided solutions for daily life in the United States and other regions. Prof. Yeh has recently been elected a member of the National Academy of Engineering, U.S.A..
  5. Dr. Paul Liao received his B.S. degree from the Department of Civil Engineering at National Cheng Kung University in 1964. Dr. Liao retired as the CEO of Seattle-based Tetra Tech/KCM in 2001. He has made great contributions not only to the development of environmental engineering and aquarium engineering globally but also to the exchange of culture and technology among Taiwan, United States and China.
  6. Mr. Keh-shew Lu received his B.S. degree from the Department of Electrical Engineering at National Cheng Kung University in 1969. Mr. Lu is currently the President and CEO of the Diodes Inc. He has made great contributions not only to the electronics industry but also to the society.
  7. Mr. Tiao Zhang received his B.S. and M.S. degrees from the Department of Architecture at National Cheng Kung University in 1970 and 1972, respectively. Mr. Zhang is currently the chairman of Din-Yue Development & Construction Ltd. He has made great contributions not only to the development of infrastructure but also to the quality of living in Taiwan.
